My work is concerned with the question; How can contemporary society be defined? This society may be defined as a consumer society. Modern consumers consume not goods but signs and symbols. According to Baudrillard, consumers are living by consuming images and symbols, not functional facts of the product. Also, modern society can be seen as a setting characterized by the excess of images. The signs and symbols that are poured out by various media in the city centre represent the existence style of our time. These symbols become the environment itself that makes up our daily lives and define our thoughts and behaviors while they are produced, consumed and owned.
